Jonathan Ansell, well known from The X Factor pop opera group G4, will play the lead role of Charles Darnay in a new musical version of A Tale of Two Cities, running at The Charing Cross Theatre from 5 April until 12 May, with press night on 17 April 2012. The full cast will be announced shortly.
Jonathan Ansell first shot to fame with The X Factor group G4 but since they disbanded in 2007 he has established himself as a successful solo artist. Last year saw him performing in the US with Marvin Hamlisch and his orchestra in a round of sell out concerts as well as his first nationwide solo tour. Other notable musical performances include Andrew Lloyd Webber's Birthday Concert in Hyde Park and in Lyrics by Don Black at the Palladium. Jonathan's stage credits include Whistle Down the Wind, Lark Rise to Candleford and Beauty and the Beast for New World Productions.

Antony Hanson was the youngest 'Joseph' finalist in the worldwide hit BBC TV show Any Dream Will Do and is delighted to be the alternate 'Charles Darney' in A Tale of Two Cities.
Antony has just completed a run in Wicked at the Apollo Victoria and appeared in the prestigious 25th anniversary Les Misérables concert of the worlds longest running musical at London's O2 Arena after spending a year at the Queens Theatre in the Les Misérables company where he played the leading role of 'Marius' on many occasions.
After leaving the BBC search for an actor to play the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Antony spent time at Mountview Theatre School before joining the cast of the record breaking Bill Kenwright touring production of Joseph first as a 'Brother,' then as the Elvis character - 'Pharaoh' and finally the coat of many colours was his, and Antony's dream came true and he played the role of 'Joseph. ' Other stage appearances include An Audience with Antony Hanson at his local theatre, the New Theatre in Oxford, creating the principal role of 'Fred' in the new musical Gutter Press at London's Riverside Studios as part of the Tete a Tete Festival and in 2011 playing the title role in Aladdin at the Ashcroft Theatre, Croydon.
Antony's first album Dream On included four of the Any Dream alumni and was launched with a concert at the world famous London Palladium Theatre and his second album, Saturday Night at the Movies is awaiting release.
